A large portion of the work of any parish, is to both Evangelize and Educate her members. At St. Barnabas, this ministry is carried out by parishioners and staff who are members of our Faith Formation team, under the direction of the Coordinator of Faith Formation and the Pastor. Focusing primarily on the needs of our youngest members, this ministry takes upon itself the awesome responsibility and great privilege of bringing Christ to life in the hearts of all the faithful. Through regularly scheduled classes, age appropriate retreats and Vacation Bible School, as well as special events scheduled throughout the year, the young people of the parish most certainly come to know the God who has brought them into being, and who wants to be intimately involved in their lives each and every day.
Any number of ministers are needed for Faith Formation. Teachers, aides, planners and, on occasion, chaperones are all necessary parts of the parish Faith Formation team. Ongoing training and assistance is available through the parish Faith Formation Office.
